Botulinum Toxin A aka “Botox” “Tox”

Botulinum Toxin A “Botox” or “Tox” Is a neurotoxin that is injected into the facial muscles to produce muscle weakness.  The skeletal muscle weakness prevents muscle contraction which helps improve lines and wrinkles in the skin by preventing muscle movement.  There are 5 types currently on the market approved by the FDA:  Botox, Jeuveau, Xeomin, Dysport, and Daxxify. A small syringe such as an insulin syringe is used to inject the medication which causes minimal pain.

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Dermal Fillers

Dermal Filler is an injectible cosmetic or facial filler mostly made of hylauronic acid (a polysaccharide) which is also naturally found in cartilage and skin. The filler is injected into the skin at different depths to help provide facial volume which is lost as you age, smooth wrinkles, and augment facial features. Dermal fillers last around average nine to twelve months because they are eventually absorbed by the body. We recommend booking a filler appointment at least two weeks before a big event to account for healing time.

Chemical peels treating conditions

A chemical peel causes the outer layer(s) of the skin to exfoliate and eventually dead skin peels off. There are different types of chemical peels to address different skin concerns such as melasma, impurities, uneven skin tone, acne, hyperpigmentation, sunspots, etc. There are also different strengths in chemical peels that work on different depths of the skin and have different “down times” which is different than a facial which works at the superficial level. The ones offered at S.E.A. are medium to deep peels therefore a 7 day “down time” is expected. Days 3-7 often involve skin peeling.

Microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that helps to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. This procedure triggers the body’s natural healing response and stimulates collagen production without using heat from lasers which can sometimes be damaging depending on your skin condition such as rosacea. You will see skin tightening happening post treatment. To treat more extensive issues multiple treatments are necessary. It is recommended to do at least three microneedling sessions every 4-6 weeks apart for best results.

Microneedling can be combined with PRP for hair loss for conditions such as postpartum hair loss or alopecia, but does not work for permanent baldness.
